OUR MORAL DUTY
Standing in solemn vigil beside the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall is the Three Soldiers statue. This bronze sculpture, added later to complement the Wall, offers a different perspective of memorial experience.
It features three figures – a Caucasian, African American, and Latino American – represent the diverse makeup of the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. Notably, their service branches remain ambiguous, emphasizing the shared sacrifice rather than specific divisions. United in service, they stand together, their gazes fixed upon the Wall that honors their fallen comrades.
Our men and women in uniform answered the call, defending our nation with unwavering courage. Many of them made the ultimate sacrifice. Now, it’s our moral duty to stand by those who served, ensuring they receive the care and support they deserve.
